It estimated there were about 253,000 cetaceans in the Black Sea: 118,328 common dolphins; 94,219 harbour porpoises (probably an underestimate); and 72,369 bottlenose dolphins. The survey covered nearly all of the Black Sea, except for an area around Russian-occupied Crimea.
